Grayscale texture study

I love how this grayscale texture study turned out. Most of the projects I’ve been doing for my first year of animation classes I don’t feel proud enough to post. There is a lot of pencil homework, and they don’t look very good once scanned. And also, because the subjects are very basic.

But then, sometimes there are nicer ones. This one was a small grayscale texture study, starting from the empty lineart. It turned out great, even though the instructions we had for it were very bare and old-fashioned. It made the process painful, but the teacher also really likes to check on me because he knows I like to do things my way.
